Welcome to FocusKey. FocusKey is developed and operated by PRESENCE LABS LLP ("we", "our", or "us"), based in Singapore. We build purposeful digital wellness tools to help you reclaim your time, cultivate deep work, and minimize mindless digital consumption.

Your privacy is foundational to everything we build. We strictly minimize data collection, process only what is necessary to deliver your focus sessions and hardware key synchronizations, and never sell or monetize your personal information or digital usage habits to third parties or advertisers.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you register, configure modes, pair your FocusKey, and use our services:

A. Account & Profile Information

• Basic Identity: Your full name, email address, password (securely hashed via salted bcrypt), optional phone number, country code, postal code, and profile photo.
• Account Preferences: Chosen timezone, notification preferences, and reminder settings.

B. Focus Modes & App Restriction Settings

• Mode Configurations: Names, descriptions, and icon themes for your personalized focus modes (such as Study, Detox, Total Focus, Deep Work, etc.).
• Restricted App Identifiers: Application package names and labels that you explicitly choose to lock during active focus sessions (e.g., social media or entertainment applications).
• Lock Events: Timestamps of lock, unlock, and mode activation triggers.

C. Focus Sessions, Breaks & Analytics

• Session Records: Start time, end time, total duration, session status (active or completed), break intervals requested, and breaks used.
• Productivity Metrics: Weekly focus totals, streak counts, and session history (available for export in the app via Export data).

D. Hardware & Device Information

• Registered Device Data: Device model, operating system (iOS or Android), unique device fingerprint, and platform information.
• FocusKey Hardware Pairing: NFC chip identifier, pairing status, and pairing codes used to sync with your physical FocusKey device.

E. Social Accountability ("Partners")

• Friend Connections: Partner requests, accepted connections, and shared active focus status or streaks with peers you choose to connect with.

F. Technical & Communication Data

• Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens required to deliver session reminders, break alerts, and partner notifications.
• Support Communications: Inquiries, attachments, and feedback submitted to our support team.

3. How We Use Information

We process your data exclusively for legitimate operational purposes:

• Delivering Core Focus Functionality: Enforcing focus modes, locking distractions, and pairing seamlessly with your physical FocusKey.
• Personal Analytics: Generating your personal focus history, streaks, and progress dashboards.
• Accountability Features: Allowing confirmed accountability partners to view your focus status and share encouragement.
• Timely Notifications: Sending personal reminders, break ending warnings, and critical account security updates.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: Authenticating logins, verifying account ownership, and protecting our services from unauthorized tampering.

4. Focus Modes & App Restriction Transparency

The decision of which apps to restrict is entirely in your hands. You may modify your mode presets, add apps, or remove apps at any time from the FocusKey settings interface.

5. FocusKey Hardware & NFC Pairing

When you pair your physical FocusKey hardware via NFC chip or pairing code, we record the hardware status (e.g., Paired) and device fingerprint to ensure only authorized physical keys can trigger or unlock designated deep focus sessions. No location tracking or ambient physical sensors are embedded in the FocusKey tag.

6. Accountability Partners ("Partners")

FocusKey includes a social accountability feature enabling you to pair with friends or colleagues. Participation is completely optional:

• No user can view your focus sessions without an explicit, mutual partner confirmation.
• Partners can only view high-level focus milestones (e.g., whether you are currently in an active mode or your daily total), never your private app selection or private account credentials.
• You may disconnect from any partner at any time directly through the Partners tab.

We only share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, strictly bound by data protection obligations:

8. Data Retention & Permanent Deletion

We store your account and session data only for as long as your account remains open and active.

You have direct control over your data lifecycle inside the app:

• Clear All Data: Resets your focus history and sessions while retaining your login credentials (Settings > Clear all data).
• Delete Account: Permanently deletes your user account, focus history, partner links, paired device tags, and settings (Settings > Delete account).

Once initiated, deletion is permanent and irreversible. Your data is promptly purged from our active databases in accordance with our data hygiene protocols.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of your geographical location, you enjoy the following privacy rights:

• Right to Access: Request a summary of your personal information held by us.
• Right to Portability & Export: Export your complete focus records directly through the Export data option in the Settings menu.
• Right to Rectification: Update or correct your profile details anytime in the app.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Permanently delete your account through the app or by contacting our support team.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke notification, screen time, or NFC permissions anytime through your mobile operating system settings.
